Why Not Look Forward to Lumiere Durham 2017 With a Look Back at 2015's Fantastic Festival?

I was very excited to hear that the dates of Lumiere Durham 2017 have been confirmed. After being rather underwhelmed by 2013's festival (many friends felt the crowd control measures were necessary but perhaps overzealous) last November's festival was an absolute treat.

Not least because I got to spend the run up to the festival stalking light artist Mick Stephenson and his cohort with my camera as he built what turned out to be one of the highlights of the festival - his to-scale recreation of Durham Cathedral's Rose Window made of disused plastic bottles, named Liter of Light.

Below you can watch the short film I made about Mick's 2015 project, as well as a couple of short "taster" films I made showing a little more of the festival as a whole at the time.

You can find out details about 2017's festival on This Is Durham's website and keep up with the latest news on Durham County Council's site.

Hopefully I'll be back filming the festival again in November 2017!
